Collegiate Guaranteed Income

Supporting foster youth to have the tools and resources they need for a bright future

Our Collegiate Guaranteed Income program helps former foster youth build financial stability and prepare for success after aging out of the foster care system. Data shows that only 4% of former foster youth who begin pursuing a college degree obtain a four-year degree. This program is designed to see former foster youth through the difficult times and increase graduation rates.

Through our Collegiate Guaranteed Income program, 20 students in Sacramento State and UC Davis’s Guardian Scholars programs are receiving $500 a month for one year. This eases financial challenges like rent, groceries and transportation so students can focus on their education and graduation goals.

Explore how monthly cash and wraparound support are helping foster youth transition into adulthood with confidence.

Growing Support for Foster Youth

  • Expanded in 2025 to include 10 UC Davis students.
  • $180,000 will have been distributed directly to foster youth students through this program at the conclusion of the 2025-26 school year.
