Youth Opportunity

Help kids excel in school and young people realize their full potential

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow and thrive. When young people have access to early literacy, school readiness programs and consistent support throughout their education, they are better prepared to reach their full potential. Our Youth Opportunity work removes barriers, supports families and strengthens the learning journeys of kids across our region.

Learn how early literacy, school readiness, and foster youth support are creating equitable opportunities for all.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

A child’s first experiences with books shape how they learn for years to come. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, children across our region receive a brand-new, age-appropriate book in the mail every month until their fifth birthday.

This simple act:
• Builds a home library for families
• Strengthens parent–child bonding around reading
• Improves kindergarten readiness
• Instills a lifelong love of learning

Early literacy is one of the strongest predictors of future academic success — and this program brings that opportunity directly to families’ doors.

KinderCamp

Not every child has the chance to attend preschool, but every child should be prepared for kindergarten. KinderCamp helps bridge that gap.

This school-readiness program offers:
• Classroom routines and social–emotional learning
• Foundational literacy and math skills
• Hands-on activities designed for young learners
• Support for parents to help their children thrive

KinderCamp gives incoming kindergartners the confidence and skills they need to start school strong.

Collegiate Guaranteed Income

Young people who have experienced foster care often begin college without the financial stability or support systems their peers depend on. Our Collegiate Guaranteed Income program provides monthly income support and wraparound services that help students stay focused on their education, manage life’s challenges and build a stable path into adulthood.

This program offers:
• Monthly guaranteed income to meet essential needs
• One-on-one academic coaching and guidance
• Mentorship and life-skills development
• Assistance with college and career planning
• Consistent support through major life transitions

By providing dependable income and trusted relationships, this program gives foster youth the stability, encouragement and tools they need to thrive in college and grow into confident, self-sufficient adults.
