Why Join

Young Leaders Society provides community involvement and personal development opportunities to its members. The group offers multiple avenues to become involved with United Way initiatives, to directly make a difference in people’s lives, and to ultimately become leaders in the community. Individuals 40 years of age or younger, contributing a combined annual gift of $100 or more to United Way, may join Young Leaders Society.

Young Leaders Society presents a two-pronged focus of outreach among the community. First, engagement in this group allows young professionals to create an impact in the community with volunteer/service projects. Secondly, members of YLS plan, promote, and execute a community-wide fundraiser, which provides a financial impact to the United Way’s digital equity program.

What’s Required?

The great news is that once qualified to join, members do not have any expected requirements. YLS is designed to offer something different for all its members, regardless of the level of involvement or area of interest. You can sign up for multiple service projects, attend events, network with fellow YLS members, take advantage of professional development, or simply be recognized as a Young Leader.
