Kindergarten Reading Volunteer

Help a Child Learn to Read—One Word at a Time

Join us in making a lasting impact! United Way California Capital Region has partnered with Fortune Schools to support their Kindergarten Reading Program. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help young scholars master sight words and build the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

As a volunteer tutor, you’ll work one-on-one with a kindergarten student once a week, guiding them through fun and focused reading sessions. No teaching experience is required—just a passion for helping children succeed and a commitment to showing up.

Together, we can help every child learn to read by the end of kindergarten—and close the achievement gap one student at a time.

Fill out the interest form below or reach out to Izabelle Lewis with questions by emailing izabelle.lewis@uwccr.org.
