Volunteer with Reading Partners: Help a student learn to read

United Way California Capital Region wants every student in Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties to graduate from high school on time, ready to be a contributing community member. How do we do this? We focus efforts on helping students learn to read so they graduate high school. Now there’s ANOTHER opportunity for you to get involved in making this a reality in partnership with Reading Partners, a United Way certified partner.

You can volunteer as little as one hour per week and make a huge difference in a child’s life by tutoring a struggling reader one-on-one at a local elementary school. Reading Partners needs you to help a student gain the confidence and reading skills needed to thrive and be successful in school. No experience is necessary, you will be trained to work with a structured curriculum and have on-site staff support.

To get started today or get questions answered, please contact Reading Partners directly by phone at 916.996.0830, by e-mail or by visiting their website. See the attached for more information.
