Sleep Train volunteers with Next Move

A team of volunteers from Sleep Train came together recently to help out United Way certified partner Next Move with multiple tasks around the Family Shelter facility. The team of volunteers recently completed their Sleep Train training and the company works with United Way to instill the idea of giving back to the community right from the beginning of employment. The team split into teams to accomplish the multiple tasks—including painting several rooms, a massive deep cleaning of the kitchen, working in the garden and helping to prepare lunch. Through these activities, the group had fun together as a team and learned more about the organization and met some wonderful people along the way.

Next Move, formerly Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center, started in 1972 housing just seven homeless families. Now, the organization serves an average of 600 people each day. Next Move provides vital shelter, housing and community services to improve the self-reliance and quality of life for families with children and adults experiencing homelessness. Thank you to the team from Sleep Train for working so hard and going above and beyond. Our community is eternally grateful for your corporate policy of giving back to local communities. An additional thank you to the dedicated Next Move staff who made the volunteer experience the best it could be.
