FedEx Cares Week comes to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services
30 volunteers from FedEx recently came together to help out at Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services over two days of service as part of the annual FedEx Cares Week. The first group worked at the organization’s Oak Park facility sorting food that will eventually be used for the mobile food distribution program and others helped sort donations in the clothing program.
The second group worked at the mobile food distribution program in a neighborhood in North Sacramento helping to set-up the “community festival” ambiance of the mobile food distribution site and be trained in how to distribute the food to clients. Both groups had a great time together while giving back and learning about how they can help the needs of our community.
Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services is dedicated to helping feed, clothe, educate and mentor families in need at no charge, while providing hope and support in our community. The organization is so much more than just a food bank, as if that wasn’t enough. If you haven’t experienced volunteering with Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, get your group together and plan to share your time. It’s an extremely rewarding experience. Contact us if we can help plan your day of service!
