Accenture “Intern Day of Service” benefits Sacramento Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers from Accenture volunteered their time with United Way certified partner Sacramento Habitat for Humanity as a part of the “Accenture Intern Day of Service.” Interns come to Accenture from across the country for a 12 week internship during the summer and the “Intern Day of Service” allows for team building while giving back at the same time.
Sacramento
Habitat for Humanity builds affordable housing for qualified
Sacramento low income families, sells these homes at cost and
provides no down payment/zero interest mortgages. In addition to
the construction process, the organization manages the ReStore
which recycles donated items such as gently used appliances,
furniture and construction supplies back into the community to
help support the organization. If you haven’t visited the
ReStore yet, check it
out! There is something for everyone.
Volunteers heard from the staff of both United Way and Habitat
for Humanity before working in the ReStore warehouse, keeping
busy sorting, organizing, stocking and pricing donated items.
Thank you to Accenture for stepping up to volunteer as well as
the individual intern volunteers who made a huge difference in
just one day of hard work. Finally, thank you to Sacramento
Habitat for Humanity for hosting the volunteers and providing
this fun opportunity.
