2013: 90 service projects for 90 years of service

Why 90 projects? 2013 marked the 90th anniversary of United Way California Capital Region and we celebrated by bringing volunteers out to accomplish 90volunteer projects.

Volunteer projects ranged from helping directly with the United Way’s STAR Readers, $en$e-ability and Fit Kids projects to helping certified United Way partner organizations with painting and other facility improvement, distributing food and supplies at a food bank, helping with arts and crafts in a children’s program, providing support for program leaders, preparing supply baskets for people in need and much more!

Some volunteers also got involved in large scale United Way projects such as the STAR Readers Book Drive February 18 – March 8 , Run or Dye 5k Color Run on March 16 or the 5th Annual LIVE UNITED Toilet Paper Drive in June.

Thank you to all volunteers who were a part of this celebration! Volunteering extends beyond our celebration in 2013, consider getting involved today by contacting volunteer@uwccr.org. We look forward to partnering with you!
