Women in Philanthropy Spring Event
Towel/Toiletry/Luggage collection for foster youth

United Way Event

United Way’s Women in Philanthropy Spring event was quite the success. We collected 305 towel sets (one bath towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth), thousands of toiletry items and 65 pieces of new or gently used luggage and/or duffel bags for local foster youth at this event. Thank you to everyone who supported the drive and who came to the event!

Women in Philanthropy members and supporters participate in the Foster Youth Emancipation Basket program through Sacramento County.

Items are collected for the more than 300 foster youth emancipating from the system so they have necessary household items to get started on their own. Our towel sets and toiletry items are included in these baskets. Last year, we collected more then 350 towel sets and more than a hundred toiletry items. This year, we will also be collecting new or gently used luggage and/or duffel bags for foster youth so they have something to transport their belongings.
