Towel/Toiletry/Luggage collection event for foster youth
Women in Philanthropy's Spring Event
You are invited to United Way’s Women in Philanthropy Spring event! We will be collecting towel sets (one bath towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth), new toiletry items and new luggage and/or duffel bags for local foster youth at this event. So far, we have collected 22 pieces of luggage, 19 giftbaskets (donated by DSW) and 104 towel sets!
To make it easy for you, we have created an online wishlist with items you can purchase online and have sent directly to our United Way office. Just a few clicks and your toiletries & towels are on their way.

Women in Philanthropy members and supporters participate in the
Foster Youth Emancipation Basket program through Sacramento
County. Items are collected for the more than 300 foster youth
emancipating from the system so they have necessary household
items to get started on their own.
Our towel sets and toiletry items are included in these baskets. Last year, we collected more then 305 towel sets, hundreds of toiletry items and more than 65 pieces of luggage. We collect luggage so foster youth have something to transport their belongings.
This event is also a great opportunity to learn more about Women in Philanthropy if you’re not yet a member. Complimentary appetizers will be provided. RSVP now!
SPECIAL NOTE: Do you work at Intel or Allied/Nationwide? If you work at Intel, you can drop off your items to Chalessa White or Tamar Garrett. If you work at Allied Insurance you can drop off your items with Sandy Joslin or Carol Clefton. They will deliver the items to United Way from there!
