Meet Damon Leardini

My name is Damon Leardini, Customer Service Rep with SMUD.
What is a brief description of your job?
I help people, my job consists of more than just taking payments and starting and ending services for customers. My favorite part of working at SMUD is helping those find solutions for the hard situations customers find themselves in. When they are on the verge of having their services interrupted or just need some additional time to pay, I enjoy being able to help find a solution to help them and provide them with options to prevent against future situations. You never know what someone else is going through and how a simple act of kindness can make such a significant change in one’s life.
What is your favorite part about the program or the opportunity to be a part of the program?
The favorite part of the program is having the opportunity to help others on a much larger scale, and finding nonprofits that I am passionate about helping through volunteer programs, or donations.
What inspires you to give through the United Way campaign?
Certain life experiences that I have been in, have put things into perspective for me and rather than accepting defeat, it motivated me to want to help others.
Which nonprofits or causes do you donate time or funds to, and why?
The Marfan Foundation, Make A Wish, and after what I learned today I am looking forward to helping Hope Coop.
