United Way Distributes $65,000 to Local Families
An Anonymous Donor Brightens the Holidays

United Way California Capital Region received an anonymous donation of $65,000 with the agreement that the money be distributed to families in our 5-county region before Dec. 25. With this unexpected windfall, United Way was able to work with community partners to ensure that this holiday wish was carried out.

Holiday Cheer in Yolo County

In partnership with Yolo County Children’s Alliance (YCCA), United Way participated in the annual West Sacramento Toy Distribution on Dec. 18. At this drive-thru event, hundreds of families were able to receive resources at various stops. United Way provided 409 families with a holiday card containing $100 in cash.

In addition, United Way gave 66 families participating in YCCA case management program cash gift cards, 15 families received $100 (per family) and 51 families received $200 (per family).

As part of the program’s services, YCCA provides them with a wrap-around case management program linking the families to a variety of internal and external services to help the families stabilize.
