Pro Bono Estate Planning Clinic available in Sacramento
Low-income families get free advice
April is National Financial Capability Month and now is the perfect time to prepare your estate plan. Launched last month, Voluntary Legal Services Program is now offering monthly clinics for low-income individuals and couples to meet with lawyers to create their estate plans.
Attorneys will help with the following:
- Will: identify who will inherit property and manage your estate, nominate a guardian for minors
- Financial Power of Attorney: name someone to manage your finances if you become incapacitated
- Advance Health Care Directive: name someone to make healthcare decisions if you can’t, provide guidance on end-of-life wishes
These clinics are held on the first Monday of every month at 5 p.m. at 501 12th Street in downtown Sacramento. Please note: this is by appointment only.
