Oyango Snell Elected Vice Chair of Board of Directors

SACRAMENTO (7/15/20) – Oyango Snell of West Sacramento has been elected vice chair of United Way California Capital Region’s board of directors. Snell serves as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for the Western States Petroleum Association. Prior to that position, he served as chief legislative and regulatory counsel in multiple states representing the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America and worked in state government relations in the public and private sectors in Columbus, Ohio. He earned his law degree at The Ohio State University, MBA from Franklin University in Columbus and bachelor’s degree from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. 

The board also elected Steve Lins, SMUD chief assistant general counsel, as board chair; Dave Bowen, retired from Deloitte, as treasurer; and Dave Cable, a senior vice president at Bank of America, as immediate past board chair.

For nearly 100 years, United Way California Capital Region has brought local people together to make community change happen.
