Local Union Volunteers Turn Out To Help Sort & Bag Toiletry Items For Labor Day Distribution!

Post

Thank you to all the Local Union Volunteers who came out to help sort & bag up all the toiletry items that were collected by Local Unions and their traveling Business Representatives & Rank-n-File Members as part of our annual “Local Union Travel Toiletry Program” & the “Feminine Hygiene Product Drives”!

We had 30 volunteers from 11 different Unions & Labor Organizations (Sheet Metal Workers Local 104, Ironworkers Local 118, Floor Coverers Local 1237, CSEA Chapter 127 (San Juan), CWA District Council 9, Operating Engineers Local 3, UDWA Local 3930, AFSCME Local 3299, Teamsters Local 150, California Teachers Association, Sacramento Central Labor Council, Sacramento Building & Construction Trades Council, and the California State Retirees) show up at the Labor Council to help us sort & bag all of the donated toiletry items!

As a result of these great volunteers efforts on Saturday, we will have 400 Men’s & 200 Women’s Toiletry bags to hand out on Labor Day to the clients of Loaves & Fishes as they leave the dining room after enjoying a delicious BBQ chicken lunch prepared and served by Local Union volunteers!

Thank you to the California Teachers Association, United Auto Workers Local 2350 (SEIU Local 1000 Staff Union), California State Retirees and all the other Local Unions & Union Members that took up toiletry collections this year and asked their traveling Members to collect/donate, and of course al of the individual Union Members who collected these items while traveling and dropped them off at the Sacramento Central Labor or a Delegates Meeting!

And of course, thank you very much to all of the volunteers who helped out at the Labor Center this past Saturday morning (Aug. 24)!
