As our certified nonprofit partner and STAR Readers funded agency, we are pleased to share that Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado County Western Slope has leveraged our STAR Readers grant by raising an additional $34,000.

”Funders love the outcome driven nature of the STAR Readers program and it has proved to be a great leveraging tool for our organization,” said Sean McCartney, executive director,The Boys and Girls Club of Western Slope.

They have leveraged the STAR Readers grant in the following ways:
•  $19,000 grant from Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This money is used for mentoring our kids, specifically the individualized instruction, which includes the STAR Readers grant.
$15,000 contribution from Wells Fargo. This money is used for programming, specifically our Academic Success programming, which includes the STAR Readers grant.

With a goal to bring in $100,000 they are currently working acquiring an additional $40,000. Enough cannot be said how extremely proud we are to have them as a partner!
