Live United Profile

Donna Mobley Lives United by working to ensure our regional high school graduation rate increases each year. Over 9,800 students dropped out of high school in the class of 2010. Donna works with communities in the region to decrease that number every year. Research shows that one of the best ways to increase the graduation rate is to ensure students can read proficiently when they enter the 4th grade. Up until the fourth grade students are learning to read. When they enter the fourth grade they are reading to learn. Donna is working with United Way volunteers to fund and support programs that work with students in kindergarten through third grade to increase the number of students who can read proficiently. Currently 56.9% of our students can not read proficiently when they enter the fourth grade. Donna is working to decrease that percentage each year.
