Investing in Families
United Way has an established track record of providing direct financial empowerment to local families through programs including Free Tax Prep, Kindergarten to College and COVID-19 relief.
STARTING AT SQUARE ONE
We are investing directly in families in under-resourced communities through our Direct Investment Program in Sacramento. Qualified families are receiving guaranteed monthly funds to start a business, go back to school, become homeowners and more.
United Way’s Women United raises funds to help foster youth prepare to be self-sufficient once they leave the foster care system. Our local United Way’s foster youth program includes case management, life skills training and financial support through the Individual Development Account (IDA) program.
The Kindergarten to College (K2C) Savings Program has aimed to make higher education more accessible by opening college seed accounts for kindergarteners at many of Sacramento’s schools.
