Through the confusion, stress and worry that the pandemic naturally causes, young leaders, activists and volunteers across the country are generating ideas, energy and empathy. It’s been proven time and time again there is no better resource in times of trouble than young people. We need the kind of initiative and resourcefulness that can motivate a nation when it needs it the most.
This is why United Way California Capital Chapter’s Young Leaders Society (YLS) is so excited to have Nihal Satyadev, MPH, as our second speaker for our YLS Speaker Series on Community Leadership! He will :
- Tell his personal story of creating his national nonprofit
- Provide tips on amping up your role in the community during this challenging time
- Share what in 2020 has made things different in community leadership, activism and volunteering
- Offer suggestions and tips on how to pivot during this difficult year
About Nihal Satyadev, MPH
Nihal Satyadev, MPH is a medical student, social entrepreneur, researcher, Alzheimer’s advocate, and podcaster. His work has been featured on the New York Times, Forbes, the Today Show, TEDMED, ABC, Quartz, and several other news outlets.
Nihal is a strong voice leading America’s youth through his role as the chairman & co-founder of the nation’s largest youth-based Alzheimer’s nonprofit, The Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s. He is leading his peers in recognizing the public health threat that the disease possesses and in driving forward innovation to address its rising costs. He is currently studying at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences and is a member of the Duke Global Neurosurgery & Neurology research team. He holds an MPH from George Washington University and a BA in Computer Science from the University of Redlands.
