Why should you support United Way?

Great movements are led by amazing individuals, and the Square One Project is no different. We have had fantastic success in the first four years of this project, addressing the many issues that keep kids from succeeding in school – hunger, housing, education, finances and more – but there is so much more work to be done. Please consider supporting United Way with a donation.

Did you know?

  • Sacramento area kids who graduate from college are 62% less likely to live in poverty than those who drop out of high school.
  • If kids aren’t reading at grade level by 4th grade, they will have a hard time keeping up across multiple subjects.
  • More than 1/3 of households in the Sacramento region were a paycheck away from homelessness before the pandemic hit – that number is going to rise in the coming months.
