Happy to spread the word

I am truly EXCITED about this year’s 2009-2010 California State Employees Charitable Campaign (CSECC)! I love my job and how it affords me the opportunity to provide individuals with information about various nonprofit organizations and the valuable services they provide.

The indomitable spirit of the California State Employee is truly remarkable and these group of individuals are truly compassionate about the communities in which they live. Last year they raised over $8.7 million dollars! Their generosity is truly second to none. As the Director of the CSECC, I feel that I “LIVE UNITED” by giving my “all” when it comes to administering this campaign and spreading the word to everyone that I meet about how they can make this world a better place through their donation of their talent, time and treasure!

About a week ago I was able to meet some amazing people at the CALPERS Charity Golf Tournament at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course. We had more than 200 golfers play on one of two courses and the money benefited United Way and its local certified nonprofit agencies. I was amazed at the spirit and kindness of the golfers — it was a furlough day but they smiled from start to finish, proud to participate in the charity event. Everyone laughed, enjoyed the perfect golf weather and basked in the glow of a feeling that even a game of golf can make a positive difference in our community.

Tanya loves God, her family, her friends and is committed to making our world a better place.
