After months of hard work and planning State Street’s United Way Workplace Giving Campaign wrapped up Friday, Sept. 24. Planning for the campaign began in mid-July when a committee of 25 employees was formed from State Street’s approximately 460 employee population in downtown Sacramento.
Between our weekly fundraising events and online payroll deduction donations we have raised $100,000 for the second year in a row! What’s even better is State Street matches donations so make that totals $200,000! On top of that, all of the volunteer hours employees donated towards United Way between March 1 – Oct. 31, 2010, State Street will donate $20 for every one hour of volunteer time.
The campaign could not have been a success without the support & enthusiasm our employees showed this year. From our Office Olympics theme to the Head Shaving contest between Management this week, it was exciting for everyone in the office. One of the highlights of the week were all of the gift raffle baskets that were donated by different departments. Raffle tickets were available for purchase throughout the week and the raffle commenced on Friday afternoon along with an i-Pad that went to one lucky $20 raffle ticket winner.
State Street prides itself on our commitment to our local community that we live and work and it was truly a joy and honor for us to serve as this year’s Campaign Chairs.
