Thank you Bank of America for your commitment to our community
Week of Thanks 2014
Bank of America remains one of the region’s largest supporters of the community and United Way California Capital Region is glad to be an integral partner in this process. Since 2009, they have given $700,000 alone from their United Way Giving Campaign. Each year, during the United Way campaign associates are given the opportunity to learn about United Way’s Community Impact projects as well as gain knowledge about United Way’s non-profit partners.
This year Bank of America provided a special opportunity for United Way to offer our community a way to save money during Tax Season by providing a grant for us to better partner with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) program and KeepYourTaxRefund.Com. VITA is a national program that offers free help to people who make a limited income and need assistance preparing their tax returns; and KeepYourTaxRefund.Com is a website powered by H&R Block software where individuals making $58,000 or less qualify to have their state and federal taxes done for free. To show the impact that Bank of America’s contribution made within our community, last year 59 individuals used this website to file their taxes but this year we climbed to 480 individuals who used this website to file their taxes! This would not have been possible without Bank of Americas support and contribution towards the program to help us spread the word within our community.
In addition, in 2013 Bank of America launched a program that showcases a commitment to volunteerism: “2 Million Connections for Better.” We are excited to share that bank volunteers honored that commitment and generously volunteered over 2 million hours of their time in 2013 and over 12,000 of those hours were completed in Sacramento! United Way California Capital Region was one of the top four organizations that Sacramento Bank of America volunteers gave their time to during the past year.
Thank you Bank of America for your commitment and support to making our community stronger and healthier.
