Ken Chavez is senior editor for local news at The Sacramento Bee, where he has worked for 25 years. In that capacity, he oversees editors and reporters in the Metro, Business and Features divisions and is primarily responsible for daily news coverage.

Previously, Chavez helped integrate the print and online operations as the paper’s first assistant managing editor for digital. Chavez started with the paper in 1989 as the night cops reporter, covering breaking news from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. five days a week.
