Sacramento Lions Club Leos help clean up Fisherman’s Lake Parkway

Volunteer

Volunteerism in the community through collaboration means big results! Over 100 volunteers made up of Sacramento Lion’s Club Leos showed up on Saturday, February 9th at Fisherman’s lake Parkway, a volunteer opportunity presented by the City of Sacramento Volunteer Program.Ten teens from Vice Mayor Ashby’s Parks Leadership Academy for Youth (aka “PLAY”) led the event and taught the Leos how to weed, prune bushes, re-stake trees, and more. The Parks department is already reporting compliments from the community on the improvements.

Thank you to Sacramento Lions Club Leos for wrapping up their youth symposium with a day of service and to the City of Sacramento Volunteer Program, PLAY and the Parks department. An outstanding job by everyone!
