Placer Food Bank hosts UPS volunteers

Volunteer

Recently, a group of volunteers made up of UPS employees volunteered their time at United Way certified nonprofit partner Placer Food Bank. The group arrived motivated to help tackle some of the problems with hunger in Placer County. In 2012 alone, Placer Food Bank distributed 5.9 million pounds of food.Together, the volunteers from UPS sorted and packaged food. This is just one step in the process to ensure that the food is distributed appropriately to those who need it. The few hours spent helping to sort food will touch many lives for days and weeks to come.

Placer Food Bank distributes food to charitable organizations who, in turn, feed over a half-million people facing hunger in the Sierra-Sacramento region. Thank you to UPS for stepping up and pitching in to help United Way certified nonprofit partner Placer Food Bank. Thank you to employees of Placer Food Bank for being wonderful hosts for the volunteers and making it a fun day all about making a difference and growing together as a team.
