Kohl’s volunteers give back in a big way!

Volunteer

A team of over 60 volunteers from Kohl’s stores throughout the region came together in partnership with United Way to help out the American River Parkway Foundation with invasive plant clean-up at River Bend Park. Volunteers met as a team and headed out deep into the vegetation area to help remove plants that are harmful to the native plants. The area the volunteers worked on will eventually be used for education programs related the importance of parks and the environment in relation to healthy living for kids, adults and families. Following the work, the Squeeze-Inn food truck greeted the volunteers back at the parking lot with a hearty meal. The team also enjoyed some team-building and fun in the sun to celebrate the work they accomplished.

The mission of the American River Parkway Foundation is to support the preservation and enjoyment of the American River Parkway by fostering environmental education, stewardship and volunteer opportunities. Thank you to the staff for partnering with United Way and Kohl’s to help coordinate this large volunteer activity. Most importantly, thank you to the hard working and fun loving team of volunteers from Kohl’s stores throughout the region and the Kohl’s corporate philosophy of giving back! You inspire us and we look forward to working with you to coordinate many more volunteer projects in the future.
