Family Fitness Night gets help from Nationwide volunteers

Volunteer

Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center hosted their annual Family Fitness Night at Hiram Johnson High School with hundreds of families coming out to participate in physical activities together and learn more about valuable community resources. United Way staff were on hand manning a booth about the Fit Kids program and resources for families to live a healthy and active lifestyle. Also on hand were several volunteers from Allied/Nationwide to help with registration and guiding the families between activities. There was even a surprise appearance by Sacramento Kings player Rudy Gay, which thrilled participants of all ages.

Thank you to the volunteers for stepping up to help out and to Allied/Nationwide for being such wonderful community partners throughout the year. Lastly, thank you to staff from The Center for including United Way in this exciting event! Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center is a funded partner in the United Way Fit Kids program. Fit Kids is creating opportunities for kids to learn and practice nutritious food choices and exercise to create a lasting healthy lifestyle.
