Volunteers help prep for Run or Dye

Volunteer - New

Volunteers from United Way certified partner Reading Partners, including some of their Americorps team members made their way out to Sports Authority on Friday March 15th alongside other volunteers and the team from Run or Dye to help check-in runners for Saturday’s big event.United Way California Capital Region is honored to be the charity partner for Run or Dye. Thank you to volunteers Reading Partners for helping out with pre-registration! Reading Partners know a bit about volunteers, as they recruit and train community volunteers to tutor students from low-income communities who have fallen below grade level in reading skills.

The number of people out to check-in for the event early was incredible! Lines weaved through Sports Authority and our volunteers were able to help make the process quick and easy. United Way California Capital Region expects over 100 volunteers who signed up through United Way to volunteer at the Run or Dye event Saturday, March 16th. In total, over 600 volunteers stepped forward from the Sacramento community in addition to over 7,000 who registered to run the 5k fun run!
