August 9, 2010 -- United Way California Capital Region certified nonprofit partner Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services (SFBFS) is proud to announce that registration is now open for Hanson McClain’s 17th annual Run to Feed the Hungry. This 5K and 10K fun run and walk has become a Thanksgiving Day tradition for Sacramento families.

August 4, 2010 -- United Way California Capital Region certified nonprofit partner River Oak Center for Children announced today that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mary Hargrave, is retiring on September 1, 2010 after 28 years of dedicated service. River Oak has named Chief Operations Officer Laurie Clothier, who has been with the agency for 26 years, as Interim CEO.

August 2, 2010 -- Last week our office had a memorable series of events including a garage sale with items donated by the staff, an ice cream social with information about pledge forms, a morning at the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services volunteering our time, a BBQ with our neighbors and a wrap-up with a raffle.

July 30, 2010 -- Available for immediate pick-up is a donated black & white business copier. A CVS location in El Dorado Hills is closing and is looking to donate a B&W business copy machine to a certified nonprofit partner in need. It is in great shape and works well. The copy machine needs to picked-up no later than August 4, 2010. Requires: 2-3 strong individuals and a truck/van.
