Survival City: Loaves & Fishes

August 30, 2010-- The address is 1321 North C Street, but it might just as well be known as Survival City. On a typical afternoon last month, nearly 800 people came to the village of services operated by Loaves and Fishes for a nutritious hot lunch, a chance to shower, emergency schooling for children aged 3 to 15, or safe daytime shelter.

“Fore” Community Impact Golf Tournament

Sacramento regional labor organizations are set to host the "Fore" Community Impact Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 8 at the Wildhorse Golf Club in Davis. The tournament benefits United Way California Capital Region's Community Impact Fund. The Community Impact Fund is designed to make a positive impact in our five-county region in the areas of Education, Income and Health.

Golfers will tee off at 8 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served before the tournament begins and an awards lunch will be available following the round.

United Way's Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast

Join us on Sept. 9 for the largest campaign event of the year! The Kick-Off event will feature breakfast with more than 600 guests from the private and nonprofit sectors in hopes that valuable information, success stories and other beneficial ideas are shared as we prepare for the upcoming giving campaign.
