Student United Way Founder Spotlight
Meet junior Kewana Veal

Spotlight

I am Kewana Veal and I’m serving as the treasurer for the newly formed Student United Way (SUW) at Sacramento State, where I am currently a junior. I am pursuing a major is Business Administration with a track in finance & international business. My studies prior to Sac State took place at American River College where I graduated with a AA in Social Sciences & AS-T in Business Administration. I’m also an accountant with a local lumber and hardware store.

My passion is to educate people on the importance of healthy finances and I am very excited to share that passion with others through my work with SUW.

Family is very important to me. I enjoy weekend outings in Northern California. I love being active in student life on campus, especially Sac State football games. STINGERS UP!

I was attracted to United Way due to my experience of teaming up with the organization in the past.

I have a lot of volunteer experience in the local community, and am excited to continue serving my community with Student United Way.  I have volunteered with United Way, KVIE, BOSS, Areospace Museum of California, Taste of Fair Oaks, Reading Partners, Comcast, and Ronald McDonald House, just to name a few. I also make an effort to feed locals in need with a few friends.

Student United Way is a movement of passionate student leaders who are committed to improving lives and strengthening their communities. For more information or to join email Student@UWCCR.org
