Financial Analyst, California State Lottery
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where do you work? What do you do for fun?
I work for the CA Lottery in Financial Analysis & Risk management, mostly as a project manager and I absolutely love where I work, the people I work with, and the Lottery mission (providing funds for supplemental education)
I love exploring and enjoying all that our city of Sacramento has to offer. You can find me drinking coffee at one of the lovely midtown coffee shops, tasting wine at the Old Sugar Mill with my husband, Steven and our puppy, Rambo, or volunteering.
What motivated you to join United Way’s Young Leaders Society?
I’ve always had an unwavering desire to be a part of making my community a better place and what better way to do that than with YLS? It’s the best of both worlds; working alongside passionate young professionals that all want to engage our community and improve the education of our youth to ultimately lift up our community.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“I believe luck is preparation meeting opportunity.” – Opray Winfrey
Okay so I didn’t receive it from her directly, but it’s my favorite quote at the moment.
I suppose advice; “Be grateful.” Usually I get my best advice from my mom.
What would you say to other young professionals looking to get involved in the community?
What are you waiting for?
If you could change one thing about our community, what would it be and why?
Access to quality public education
