As the senior member of the marketing team at United Way California Capital Region, Amber Murry develops and coordinates marketing and stakeholder communications plans and activities that contribute to the positive positioning of the organization and its initiatives. She oversees the development of all internal and external organizational communications, special events and provides support for public and private sector campaigns, giving initiatives and Impact Councils.

Prior to serving as Vice President, Murry helped implement new logo and brand standards for all organizational materials and developed a sponsorship recognition plan that increased revenue by 100 percent. Managing a $150,000 event budget, Murry has coordinated all major events for United Way since 2005. Murry has also worked on the Women in Philanthropy initiative since it was formed in 2002.

Murry initially joined UWCCR as Communications Manager in 2001, writing all marketing materials for the department. She was honored as Employee of the Month in 2002. Prior to working at United Way, she was a Loan Funder with Fireside Bank.

Murry holds a bachelor’s degree in English from California State University, Sacramento.
