(Women United Exclusive) Child Abuse Prevention Center
Friday, Sept. 22, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

5-10 volunteers needed

Project description:

Join Women United members in support of local foster youth at Child Abuse Prevention Center by participating in an activity led by former foster youth now serving as AmeriCorps members as they present testimonials on youth they are currently serving as well as personal stories. The activity will be a financial literacy activity similar to what CAPC does with the youth they work with in order for Women United members to get a taste of what the activity is like, including such as setting up a store situation where they will need to make a budget and “purchase” certain items. The activity shows the importance of budgeting as well as the cost of living. Finally, after understanding the activity, Women United members will help create packets on the activity completed that will be used across the region at various sites.

This project is exclusive to Women United members and guests.
