Sacramento Area Book Drive, May 16 – 20
Does your reading program need books this summer?

Post

When children have greater access to books they do better in school. This is especially important over the summer when low-income children tend slide backwards educationally because they often do not have access to the books and other educational activities that their higher-income peers do. Studies have shown that by 5th grade low-income kids can fall as much as two years behind. That is why United Way and our partners are asking for donations of new or used books so all children in the Sacramento area can have access to quality reading materials this summer and beyond.
