Improving People's Health by Reducing Obesity

Health is strongly linked to education and income. Good health allows children to learn better and adults to increase their income through productive work. A lack of health coverage means that primary care – and its ability to prevent or treat illness before it becomes serious – is a luxury. Did you know that 50 percent of all bankruptcies in 2005 and 2006 were due to medical debt?

With your help we can improve the health of children and adults. Key markers contribute to a healthy progression through life: a normal birth weight, preventative health care beginning in earliest childhood and avoiding risky behaviors and staying healthy as a youth and adult.

The Health of Americans is a serious concern and we are going to find serious solutions to help people improve and enhance the health of our community.

With your help United Way California Capital Region is going to work with donors, volunteers, thought leaders and others to do whatever we can to positively impact Health in our community. We’ve proven that when we all work together, we can make a difference.

Positively affecting Health is just one way to LIVE UNITED.
