Volunteer Center of Sacramento Exceeds Goal
Adopt-A-Family Hits All-Time Record
United Way California Capital Region nonprofit partner Volunteer Center of Sacramento has much over which to be excited: More than 400 families, including 1,246 children, experienced a Merry Christmas, thanks to the support and generosity of VCS sponsors and volunteers. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed their time and resources to the cause.
Buoyed by last year’s holiday success, the Center is thrilled to introduce its Family-Friendly and VolunTEEN programs for 2012. Winter events include partnerships with Harvest Sacramento, American River Clean-Up, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services and Ronald McDonald House. For event dates, times and locations, visit www.volunteersac.org, then sign up for one of these great volunteering opportunities with Christine Wallace at cwallace@volunteersac.org.
Want more? You got it: Get involved with the BirthdayMAGIC program, which provides free parties for kids living in homeless shelters and transitional housing in Sacramento. Contact Corrie Pelc at cpelc@volunteersac.org for additional details.
Volunteer Center of Sacramento is looking for Board and committee members, and invites you to attend its next Open House on January 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at its office, located at 1300 Ethan Way, #600. See you there!
