UPS volunteers with United Way’s Fit Kids

News

Over 22 local UPS folks showed up to help out with the garden at Luther Burbank High School, working alongside students who are a part of United Way’s Fit Kids program through certified partner Health Education Council. Volunteers help with planting and transplanting, weeding, painting, cleaning of sheds/barns and fixed the drip system, amongst other items on their “honey-do” list. According to some of the volunteers, the best part of the day was working alongside the students in the program, learning about their participation and how they regularly work in the garden.

United Way California Capital Region’s Fit Kids project strives to decrease obesity through nutrition and physical activity. Health Education Council is one of four partners working on this project in our five county region. For more information, visit here.

Thank you UPS for your dedication to United Way and it’s partners on a year-round basis! Our community wouldn’t thrive without your help.
