Teddy Herrera Announced as United Way Kick-Off Keynote
Teddy shares our passion about helping kids eat well & exercise

News

We are excited to have Teddy Herrera join us at our kick-off and share his story of determination, perseverance and success all in effort to promote health and fitness for youth.

Teddy’s mission is to eliminate childhood obesity and inspire youth of all sizes to get up, get out and actively chase their dreams. We can appreciate this because we share this vision with our Fit Kids project. United Way California Capital Region is passionate about helping kids learn and practice eating nutritious foods and exercising to create a healthy lifestyle.

Teddy is an Elk Grove native and departed from his former elementary school at Foulks Ranch to embark on a 10-month, 22,000-mile bicycle tour to raise awareness for childhood obesity around our nation in 2011. With the goal of reaching 500,000 youth, Teddy held over 500 speaking engagements at elementary, middle and high schools in over 100 cities nationwide to demonstrate to our youth how one dream and goal-setting can change the world!

We hope you can join us at our campaign kick-off event at the River Cats game on August 23. It is bound to be a great night!
