Be trained to help burn victims

News

The Firefighters Burn Institute and Shriners Hospital for Children have partnered together and are part of the National Scald Prevention Campaign. One of Sacramento Firefighters and a staff member of Shriners have been trained and can now go out into our community and train others to teach people who interact with young children and senior citizens to prevent scald burns.

The National Scald Campaign is sponsored by the International Association of Fire Fighters, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Federation of Burn Foundations, the American Burn Association, and Safe Kids World Wide.  They also have some materials that are in Spanish that they can also provide. There is no cost for this program. The training session takes about one hour.
