Volunteer: Enrichment Activity at a Summer Meals Site
Join us for a Square One Project volunteer opportunity
Summer brings long, fun days of no school and lots of running, jumping, singing and playing for young children. For low-income children, if they don’t get academic enrichment activities during the summer, they begin to forget what they learned during the school year. We call this summer slide.
Low-income children who experience summer slide begin the next school year behind their peers academically. To help combat summer slide, many of our Summer Meals sites have ready-to-go activities planned for the children that come in to have a meal – we need your help leading these fun activities!
