A Terrific Partnership

When I joined the United Way California Capital Region team in June of this year, I was certainly told about the chaos that is campaign season. I’ll be honest…I couldn’t wait to be a part of it! Our nearly 150 certified non-profit agencies have been so inspiring. And to my pleasant surprise, so have the donors.

Businesses of all sizes are incredibly motivated to support the Sacramento region by encouraging employees to give through United Way. I’ve seen companies of every size put together teams to coordinate their United Way campaigns. Last week, Bank of America associates were visited by more than 10 certified partner agency speakers to ensure each of the nearly 2,000 local employees have been well informed and given an opportunity to LIVE UNITED. ‘Round the clock retailers like JC Penney made time in September for speakers and fairs highlighting multiple agencies during their busy back-to-school season. Companies across the region have participated in bake sales, competitions and other creative fundraising activities I had never even thought of.

Bottom line, these companies and their employees want the opportunity to give back to the community. Their partnership with United Way California Capital Region allows them to do just that. Thank you to all of our non-profit partners for the amazing work they do every day in our community and to all the remarkable donors who support them. What a fantastic partnership!
