For many years, Enterprise Rent-A-Car has partnered with our local United Way to assist with the needs of various agencies throughout our communities. We give through our annual workplace giving campaign, our time, clothing, food items, etc., whatever we could do to help lessen the burden to those in need.

When we were approached two years ago by our good friends at the United Way California Capital Region asking us to provide toilet paper for an annual drive I thought “Toilet paper…really?”  Who knew that providing something as simple as toilet paper would help out our local shelters?

Of course, being a very philanthropic and community supportive company, we were all over it!  Our first year, we set the bar at 5,000 rolls of toilet paper and challenged our employees to meet that goal. As an incentive, we provided a BBQ to our employees for donating and gave them a Business Casual Day the last Friday of each month. Our ever so competitive employees exceeded that challenge by bringing in 5,008 rolls!!!

We just completed our second TP drive with a goal of 10,000 rolls.  We knew this was quite an undertaking but knowing the drive of our employees, we would once again succeed.  And succeed we did by collecting nearly 17,000 rolls of toilet paper!!  We again rewarded our folks with a BBQ and Business Casual Friday each month.  This year we sweetened the pot with a Business Casual Monday each Monday for the Month of July.

Why do we do this?  It’s quite simple, really.  It is Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s philosophy to give back to the communities with which we do business.  The toilet paper drive was an easy and fun way to bring our employees together to reach a common goal and to help those in need.
