UPS Volunteers multi-task at St. John’s Shelter for Women & Children

A large group of UPS Volunteers took on some major projects at St. John’s Shelter for Women and Children on Wednesday, October 24th.Volunteer projects ranged from sorting donations of clothing, household items and baby supplies in the donation center, deep cleaning the resident’s hallway, sorting donated toiletries, deep-scrubbing the kitchen, helping with child care, cleaning up trash in the playground area and beyond!With so much on the list of things to do, the team from UPS really stepped up to the plate and worked hard to get the job done.The group started with a heartfelt tour of St. John’s Shelter for Women and Children, learning about the various programs and meeting residents and their kids. St. John’s Shelter for Women and Children is the only program in Sacramento County focused exclusively on the most vulnerable of the homeless population, women with children.

Thank you to UPS for being huge supported of United Way and its certified nonprofit partners and for taking time out of the busy UPS operation to bring some muscle and attention to a well deserved cause. A chance to get to know teammates, work alongside the big boss and share some laughter and memories was well worth the hard work and elbow grease required.
