Local teen mom needs your votes

United Way California Capital Region certified nonprofit partner UCP of Sacramento and Northern California has nominated Catalina Rodriguez of Winters for the “Most Influential College Student” award by StayClassy.org

To advance to the round of 10 finalists, she needs community votes by Aug. 26. To vote, visit www.stayclassy.org/classy-awards/voting, click on Most Influential College Student and select Catalina Rodriguez from the drop-down list. 

When Catalina Rodriguez was in high school, she lost her 18 month old son to complications from cerebral palsy.  As a high school senior, she dedicated her senior project to raising funds for UCP of Sacramento and Northern California and raised $7800.

She is currently the only college student in the Sacramento area up for the award, and in order to advance to the top 10 nominees she needs community votes by August 26.  You can read her story and vote for her by clicking here.
