Are you interested in gardening, nutrition and helping kids get healthy? Join the Young Leaders Society and the Health Education Council at the Grant High School GEO Garden on 2/11/15!

Young Leaders Society volunteers will help students in United Way’s Fit Kids program with cooking education and garden enhanced nutrition education. Working with students at Grant Union High School, YLS volunteers will help out in their GEO Garden and Community Kitchen. After the project, we’ll head to happy hour at Mama Kim’s! Volunteer spots are limited so you must pre-register. Click here to register through the United Way Volunteer Center.

United Way is working to reduce the number of overweight people in our region by 20%. Our Fit Kids project is one program helping us reach this goal. With a focus on good food and fun exercise, we’re engaging youth in programs that promote healthy eating and active lifestyles so they will grow up to become healthy adults. Volunteer with YLS as we help students live healthier lives.
